Holidays to Santa Susanna

Holidays to Santa Susanna are loved for their laid-back vibes. Much calmer than some of its bigger Costa Brava neighbours, this relaxing resort is full of family-friendly beaches, waterfront restaurants and quaint cobbled streets. Its beaches are beautiful but not hectic, even in the summer, and the great climate is perfect for spring sunshine and summer holidays with the family, Located on the extreme south of Spain’s Costa Brava, Santa Susanna is just an hour’s drive from Barcelona Airport.

Whether you want to lounge on the golden beaches or wander along the cobbled streets of the old town, there’s lots to do in Santa Susanna. Hop on the tourist train and explore a little more of the resort, or if you fancy going further afield it’s an easy 15 minute drive to the pretty village of Palafolls. Activity lovers can explore the hiking trails of the Massif Montnegre national park, cycle around the coast or take a boat trip along the coast. Less than an hour by car, vibrant Barcelona awaits, enabling Santa Susanna holidaymakers to get their fill of amazing city life, shopping and sights!

The seafront promenade is the best place to experience how lively Santa Susanna can be. You’ll find restaurants and bars like The Drunken Duck, Sand Beach Club or La Caleta Casa Manolo serving everything from fresh seafood to traditional Spanish dishes. Santa Susanna holidays offer the perfect blend of sun, sea, sand and city (not forgetting the stunning Catalonian cuisine) so there's something for everyone who visits.

A Guide to Santa Susanna Holidays

A Trio Of Beaches

A Trio Of Beaches

Santa Susanna has three beautiful beaches to choose from, Levante, Dunes and Escaletes. The sand isn’t fine but it’s certainly golden and the sea is inviting. Dunes and Levante are the biggest beaches, with plenty of sunbeds and pretty parasols to hire for a blissful day of sunbathing and swimming before hitting the promenade for a snack.

Get Active

If you need to work off all that tapas, head to Activ Natura Nature Park where you can navigate the tree tops using ropes, nets and bridges. You can also go quad biking, horse riding, mountain biking and try your hand at archery here. Those who want water-based action should head to the water sports centre at Dunes beach.

Dinner and Dancing

The seafront is the place to be when the sun goes down and you’re feeling particularly peckish. British tastes are well catered for and there are plenty of Italian style pizza and pasta options too. But for a real taste of Spain why not try some fresh seafood, tapas or paella in a traditional Spanish restaurant like the popular La Bodega?

Promenade

Santa Susanna's pretty promenade is ideal for a leisurely afternoon stroll with plenty of shops selling souvenirs and handmade bric-a-brac and cafés and bars to stop by. The Torres de Vigilancia (built in medieval times to fend of pirate attacks) is a good place to hunt for bargains and take selfies.
