Why go to Elounda?

Sat prettily on Crete, the southernmost island in Europe, the village of Elounda offers breathtaking natural beauty. Elounda holidays invite you to slow down a little. Breathe in the fresh sea air, marvel at the rugged mountains as they meet the sparkling Aegean Sea and bask in the warm glow of Greek hospitality.

Elounda is renowned for its luxury. Home to many five star hotels and villas, it’s not just the sea that glitters beneath the rays of sunshine that beat down upon it. But a holiday to Elounda offers so much more than beauty and luxury. There are also many sites of interest to visit nearby, including the ruins of a former leper colony.

Alternatively, for a more active Elounda holiday, head inland for a hike. Elounda’s mild climate and stunning natural majesty make it the perfect destination for those who wishing to don their boots and binoculars.

Traditional Cretan cuisine is a draw for many visitors. Healthy and abundant, sample local olives, olive oil and Greek yoghurt. Pair local cheese with a glass of white wine made on the island of Crete. In fact, the island is Greece's second-largest wine-producing region and one of the oldest wine-producing areas in Europe!
