Singapore, a famous tourist destination and of the most developed countries in Asia, if not the entire world. The city-state the size of New York, located just off the southern tip of Malaysia is one of the liveliest life haul holiday destinations on the planet.

The “Lion City” as it’s referred to, is filled with great restaurants and street food, high-life accommodation and banging nightlife. You can expect Singapore to have lush gardens, hawker centres (yummy) and little India, to futuristic cityscapes, Michelin starred restaurants and Chinatown. Singapore will not disappoint you, you and your family, you and your friends or you and your partner, making it ideal for a long haul holiday of a lifetime.
Singapore Changi Airport, a destination hub throughout Asia and one of the world’s most favourite airports filled with exciting activities to keep you busy until your next flight. The airport consists of four terminals and includes the world’s tallest slide inside an airport, butterfly garden, free cinema, a plunge pool and lots of entertainment for kids when leaving or transiting.
Singapore is a bilingual country, most locals are proficient in English, and either Mandarin, Malay or Tamil. The currency of choice is the Singaporean Dollar (SGD) currently £1 will get you roughly around $1.80 in SGD. When budgeting for your holiday keep in mind that Singapore is one of the wealthiest countries in the world, therefore, expect to spend the same as you would in London or New York.
If you are trying to see as much as possible in a short period of time, we recommend purchasing the Singapore tourist pass which will give you limited rides on any public transport. Below we will talk about the main attractions you can experience when visiting Singapore.

Marina Bay & Gardens by the Bay

Start your day at the Gardens by the Bay which is opposite the Marina Bay Sands as there is always something blooming in the gardens. You will be mesmerised by the Supertree Grove, Flower Dome, and Cloud Forest. If you would like to see the illuminated gigantic tree for your Instagram shots, we recommend arriving at 4pm to explore the domes before the sunset, then head out to the Supertree Grove and enjoy a special music and light show which takes place daily at 7:45pm and 8:45pm. Alternatively, you could also head to the Marina Bay Sands and pay to visit the skypark observation deck to take in the view from this iconic spot. The panoramic views of the cityscape from the 57th floor here are unreal.

Sentosa Island & Universal Studios

If you would like to relax and soak up the sun on the beach like you would do on traditional cheap beach holidays head of to Sentosa Island, a popular resort and is located next to Universal Studios. Sentosa Island is best known for its man-made beaches, scarce natural beauty, unexpected water sports and plenty of fun activities to do with your family. If this doesn’t tick your to-do list, head to Universal Studios as its perfect experience for the kids and endless fun for the entire family.

China Town

Many Singaporeans are of Chinese decent, so you will find Chinese influence everywhere. In China Town you can experience wood carving shops and tea houses with a blend of old and new buildings, with historic temples and traditional medicinal halls sitting alongside bold new bars and trendy lifestyle shops. China town also has Singapore’s largest hawker outlets, Chinatown Complex Food Centre boasts over 260 stalls serving up a veritable feast of local and regional delicacies.

Singapore Zoo

Ever wondered what it would like to go on a night time wild search, sounds intriguing doesn’t it?
The world’s first night time zoo has become a successful attraction for people across the world. You can take a 35 minutes tram or explore the forest through walking trails as most animals are overlooked on trams, with walking excursions also popular. The zoo is a big complex and consists of options that travellers can choose from such as; River Safari, Jurong Birds Park, Night Zoo and Singapore Zoo. Of course you can visit all four of them should you have the time, however, we recommend the Night Safari for a unique experience.
