5 things to see and do when in Las Vegas
The trouble with
Las Vegas holidays is not that there isn’t anything to do, it is that there is too much to do that it can be hard to narrow down the must-sees on your trip. So with this in mind we have put together five things you should see and do when the slot machines don’t sound as appealing as they did when you first touched down.
Las Vegas Strip helicopter night trip
One of the most popular tours Las Vegas has to offer is the Las Vegas Strip helicopter night trip. The Las Vegas helicopter night tour is a simply unbelievable 15 minute tour which flies over the incredible sights and sprawling mega hotels of the strip. Keep your camera at the ready as you get to experience the neon extravaganza strip and historic downtown in a way which is almost unbelievable from the ground. As you fly over this amazing city you get to witness the world famous fountains at the Bellagio, the Volcano at the Mirage, the Venetian’s St. Mark’s Square, the New York New York skyline, Luxor pyramid, the huge Stratosphere Tower rising over 1,100 feet into the air and much more .
Fountains of Bellagio
A stroll along the strip to witness the fountains in action is a must for anyone
visiting Las Vegas. While all of us think choreographed routines are limited to stage show performances, the Fountains of Bellagio rotate just as fantastic as the rest of Las Vegas shows. One of the most popular attractions in Vegas, and for good reason, the shows are choreographed to more than 25 different songs. The 8.5-acre lake has over 1,200 jets that rocket streams of water 455 feet into the sky. The shows are so complex, there are 30 full time staff working seven days a week, 365 days a year to clean, maintain and make emergency repairs on the fountains between shows. Just to let you know this show is free for all to view.
Gondola ride at the Venetian Resort
No stay to Vegas would be complete without experiencing the gondola ride at the Venetian resort. Here you get to drift beneath bridges, beside cafes, under stunning looking balconies, all while floating down the Grand Canal whilst the gondolier pilot sings. There is a choice of indoor and outdoor Venetian gondola rides. Each one offering its own unique views, both equally captivating and full of wonderful moments.
The Mob Museum
The Mob Museum can be found in the heart of downtown Las Vegas. The Museum is an interactive attraction displaying the history of these famed gangsters. The museum carries items that belonged to Al Capone, Meyer Lansky, Charlie Luciano, Benjamin Siegel, and Tony Spilotro, among others. Other artifacts include the mobster’s guns, weapons, jewellery, personal belongings and hundreds of photographs. Here you will get an inside look at organized crime's impact not
only in Las Vegas, but its influence in America and the rest of the world.
The High Roller
The High Roller in Las Vegas is not your average big wheel you would find at a fair ground, it is the biggest big wheel in the world, standing at a staggering 550-feet tall. To realise the sheer size, it is 107 feet taller than the London Eye. Located at the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, the High Roller is the focal point of The LINQ Promenade, Literally it’s a sight you cannot miss. The gigantic big wheel (The high roller) is comprised of enclosed transparent pods which can accommodate 40 passengers each. The experience lasts roughly 30 minutes, during which you will get to witness panoramic views of the Strip, the mountains and the Valleys of Nevada.
