Best October Holiday Destinations
Who doesn’t love a bit of autumn sun? Here’s what we think are the best
October holiday destinations for you to travel to this year, all of which would make a great late summer sun holiday for you and the whole family.
Cancun
What could be better than the warm Caribbean Sea on a tropical coastline in October? With an average of 32.9 degrees in Cancun you cannot go wrong. It is also the best time to avoid crowds as June through to October is the rainy season, but don’t let that put you off as storms are very rare and it is also the cheapest time to visit.
As you will be travelling in low season you will get to make the most of your holiday without the normal hustle and bustle of other tourists and with stunning ocean views and amazing white sandy beaches you won’t be disappointed. Playa Delfines is Cancun’s most popular beach destination, known for its white powdery sands which stretch for miles, or if you are looking to be a little more adventurous and do a bit of snorkelling and water sports Puerto Morelos & Playa Chac Mool are the ones for you.
Not only are you guaranteed that summer vibe all year around here, Cancun is also home to some of the best nightspots that Mexico has to offer so you will be spoilt for choice once the sun goes down.

If you are looking for a long weekend away but don’t want to travel for too long, a
Marrakesh holiday is a great option, with highs of 30 degrees and lows of 17 degrees in the evenings during October.
Known for its rich history, culture and beautiful gardens, Marrakesh is also known as one of the most exotic destinations and if you do decide to travel in October you can be part of the Eid al Fitr festival where the city comes to life with music and entertainment throughout the night.
If like some you want to enjoy the city life of Marrakesh during your stay but would like a day or two soaking up the sun, the closest beach is the Red Beach - also known as Plaga Rouge - located on the outskirts of Marrakech and is only about a half hour away.

Part of the Canary Islands, October is perhaps the
best time to visit Lanzarote if you’re after some sunshine, the average temperatures being 26.8 ºC and 19 ºC at its coolest during the night. You may see some rain but don’t be disheartened as it soon clears up when the sun starts shining.
