It’s the start of another week so it’s once again time to bring you the very latest news from the world of travel and holidays. We hope you enjoy this update and make sure you check back next week as we bring you even more news that could affect your next
summer holiday.
70% on non-cruisers open to cruising
Cruises are a bit of dividing topic. Some people love them, swear by them and enjoy them multiple times a year. Then others either simply would never consider them as a holiday option or say they wouldn’t mind cruising but never get around to actually going on one. Well according to research, nearly 70% of non-cruisers say they are now open to a cruise holiday following two years of interrupted travel plans. Plus according to research 80% of people who have been on a cruise holiday are likely to book again. Could this be the year that at last people who say they are open to a cruise actually go ahead and book them in droves? We think it just might be, but we’ll just have to wat and see!
New Hard Rock Hotel coming to Marbella
There is a new hotel coming to
Marbella just in time for summer. The hotel company Palladium will manage the hotel that is due to open on 1st July 2022. It will be located in the building that was previously the home of the Hotel Andalucía Plaza, with the existing hotel being renovated to turn it into a Hard Rock. It is located in Puerto Banus, 500m from the beach and features six restaurants, a rooftop terrace, infinity pool, VIP rooftop bar and an indoor heated pool. With nearly 400 rooms this new hotel is sure to be a popular option as Brits book
summer holidays to Spain in their thousands after a few years of not being able to travel on
cheap holidays.
Gatwick’s South Terminal Reopens
Gatwick airport has reopened its south terminal for the summer season after it was closed for nearly two years during the COVID-19 pandemic. The reopening will enhance the number of flights from Gatwick up to 570 per day, a significant rise on the 300 flights that were departing whilst it remained closed. April will see the highest number of departures from Gatwick (9,805) since December 2019, meaning that the grand reopening of travel really does seem to finally be here after so many false starts!
So there we have it, another week of good news for summer holidays 2022 with new hotels opening and airport terminals reopening at long last. Let’s hope we keep the god news going next week so make sure you check back to find out.
