When it comes to things to do in Antalya, there are so many options it can be hard to find them all in one place. So, with that in mind - welcome to our countdown of the top things to do in Antalya in 2024!

Hadrian’s Gate

Built around 130 AD, Hadrian’s Gate is a piece of architectural history you shouldn't miss during your holiday in Antalya. Located on Atatürk Boulevard in the city centre, this ancient gate stands over 8 meters tall. Built in honour of Roman Emperor Hadrian (the same emperor after whom Hadrian’s Wall in England is named), the gate serves as a grand entrance to Antalya’s historic quarter.

Hadrian’s Gate is renowned for its striking architecture, featuring two prominent towers. One of these towers was constructed in the Roman era, while the other was completed in the 13th century. This blend of historical periods adds to the gate's unique charm and significance.

After exploring Hadrian’s Gate, take a leisurely 10-minute walk to enjoy a breathtaking view of the city and the sea. This spot is perfect for relaxing, and you can savour a cold lemonade at one of the shaded cafés—a delightful experience, especially in the summer.

Make sure to place Hadrian’s Gate at the top of your must-see list when visiting Antalya.

Hit the Beach

Often regarded as Turkey’s tourism capital, Antalya is a top destination for travellers seeking traditional beach holidays. Stretching from Alanya to Kalkan, this region is renowned for its golden beaches so you have plenty of beaches to explore.

Here are some recommendations to enjoy sun, sea and sand.

  • Experience the laid-back Konyaaltı Beach, a 7km long public beach. Relax on the pebbled beach, bask in the sun, and take in the spectacular mountain views.

  • If you prefer sandy shores, Lara Beach is the perfect spot. This public beach offers areas where you can rent sunbeds and umbrellas for a comfortable day by the sea.

  • Located in the historical centre, Mermerli Beach is the closest beach to the harbour, nestled behind exceptional cliffs.

No matter where you choose to soak up the sun, you’ll leave Antalya with a golden tan and fond memories of this premier beach resort that can rival anywhere in Spain, Greece or the Canaries!

Enjoy a Boat Tour

A boat tour in Antalya is the perfect excuse to get off the beach and go exploring. Here’s what you should expect on a typical tour:

  1. Begin your journey with a transfer to Adrasan Port.

  2. Once you reach Adrasan, board the boat and set sail to somewhere like Suluada Island, the perfect for swimming and relaxing.

  3. During the trip, savour a delightful lunch.

  4. After lunch, take a refreshing dip in Akseki Bay.

  5. Continue your journey to the romantic Island of Love.

  6. As the tour concludes, sail back to Adrasan port.

Manavgat

A trip to Manavgat is a must for anyone visiting Antalya. Whether you're into nature, history, or adventure, Manavgat has something for you. This area features the beautiful Manavgat River, the Taurus Mountains, and the stunning Manavgat Waterfalls.

Beyond its natural beauty, Manavgat is rich in history, with ancient ruins from Lycian and Roman civilizations. You can explore historic sites and join local festivals near the waterfalls, making for a truly memorable experience.
