Expo 2020, one of the world’s most spoken about event is being held in Dubai until the end of March 2022. The Expo Dubai 2020 - although postponed due to Covid-19 pandemic - brings together 192 countries plus millions of visitors to celebrate innovation, collaboration and provide inspiration for the future. The main objective is to invite visitors to experience a diverse array of culture, food and technology from across the globe. With 60+ shows and entertainment, 200+ restaurants and 200 participants, it is an emotionally inspiring journey. 
 
Imagine yourself walking through an enormous pavilion where each of the 192 participating countries have their own building and space to showcase what makes their country amazing. You can sample food from all over the world, learn about cultures, people, and see what it would be like to visit the wonders of the world without leaving Dubai.  
 
The core theme of Expo 2020 is a combination of three micro themes that includes, sustainability, opportunity and mobility. 
 

1) Sustainability Pavilion

Climate changes and issues like global warming has long threatened our world, however, few are eager to solve and provide a solution for a much balanced world to live in for the many generations to come. The sustainability pavilion is, therefore, developed to create awareness campaign to combat global climate change. 
 

2) Opportunity Pavilion 

The opportunity Pavilion focuses on allowing the need for all races to grow and prosper. Opportunity should be open to all and with the focus on technology and business opportunities allowing people to connect minds and create a better future for all. 
 

3) Mobility Pavilion

The largest pavilion which tells the story of the past, present and future of human technological mobility. The mobility pavilion explores how new advances in transport and travel can accelerate the progress of mankind. 
 

Tickets

Visitors to Dubai can purchase the tickets directly on the Expo 2020 website www.expo2020dubai.com. Visitors can purchase single day pass and global village ticket or a multi-day pass and global village ticket.
 

COVID & Expo 2020

The entry requirements for the Dubai Expo 2020 is proof of vaccination from an official source from your country if you are over the age of 18. Or, proof of negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of your arrival. There’s a free to use PCR test facility if you have tickets to the event. Please ensure to take your mask and keep a social distance in enclosed areas in addition to following local health procedures. 
 

Top tips 

  • Don’t expect to be able to cover it all in one day
  • Bring water as you will be walking around outside and stay hydrated 
  • Day times are much quieter than evenings 
  • Prepare to queue up for some of the most popular pavilions 
  • Download the Expo 2020 app on your phone, as it’s easy to navigate. 
  • For live entertainment head to Al Wasl Zone at lunch time and sunset. 
  • Buy the Expo 2020 passport for 20 Dirhams (approx £4.00) and as you exit each pavilions be sure to get a stamp from the country you visited. 
 
Lastly the World Expo happens every 5 years so if you are unable to visit Dubai Expo 2020 there is always another opportunity. The next World Expo will be held in Osaka, Japan in 2025, we will keep you updated once we have more information.
